According to the latest study conducted by the Pew Research Centers, 56% of Internet users have already searched for themselves online: they regularly enter their names into search engines such as Yasni or Google to get an overview of their digital footprints.
In 2001 only 22% of web users said they paid attention to their own reputation on the net. At that time, probably most of them searched for their own name for the sake of curiosity or vanity. It has now changed significantly, because today it is rather careless or naive to completely neglect one’s own digital footprints.
But is it really convincing that 44% of Internet users have never searched for their own name? Maybe it’s just a little misunderstanding.
